Our beef isn't
with beef -
it's with a broken system.

Our food system needs radical change. How we farm, supply, consume, and value food today is untenable. It has been for decades. The entire sector urgently requires root and branch transformation —radically transparent restorative farming and supply chains for people and the planet. And it starts by changing how we think of nature — as the living infrastructure of supply chains, not some ‘nice to have.’
Grassroots is leading the charge by championing regenerative farming done right. We deliver joined-up thinking, investment and support that leads to better farming, better supply and better quality. By better, we mean investing in natural capital, restoring ecosystems, mimicking natural grazing patterns, improving soil health, and increasing carbon capture. In other words, supporting regenerative farmers to build sustainable and resilient food supply chains for the future.

Supply
We operate an award winning supply chain of ethically produced high-quality beef with full traceability to individual farms. Our procurement helps farmers through higher prices and detailed on-farm consultancy. It supports companies by offering greater resilience to climate shocks, lower carbon beef (roughly 50% lower than standard), quantified biodiversity impacts, traceability and provenance.
Consultancy
We help businesses make the challenging transition to regenerative sourcing, unlocking reportable biodiversity impacts, and carbon reduction. We assist with everything from employee engagement (from board level down), procurement strategy, partnerships and story-telling.
Our unique mix of experience from working with some of the biggest brands in the country right down to advising farmers means we're equipped to help you drive change through your supply chain.
Invest
'Traditional' farming systems have not kept pace with climate change. This is exposing vulnerabilities in supply chains whilst perpetuating the degradation of the natural world around us. We urgently need to invest in the transition to a new farming system that strengthens the ability of farmed landscapes to absorb severe weather events. Right now, we're working with supply chains to fund this transition on the ground with Grassroots farmers up and down the country; producing low-carbon food hand-in-hand with nature recovery.
We build radically transparent supply chains routed in climate-smart agriculture. Our focus is on increasing resilience, connectivity and positive environmental outcomes. We've developed into one of the biggest independently certified regenerative supply chains in the country. As one of our customers said about us "Grassroots sets the standard".

Built around people empowered to drive change.
We are unashamedly a people first business. People are at the heart of everything we do. We work with people we like, doing good things to drive real impact for people and planet.
Funding the transition to better farming.
Around 70% of the UK is farmland, roughly 17 million hectares. It is in these fields that supply chains start and their resilience to climate shocks is rooted. It is here that significant environmental harm or good can be realised. It is here that flavour, quality and consistency are created. If we want our supply of ingredients to come from more resilient farming systems that regenerate rather than harm the planet, we've first got to support farmers to build them.

We're driven by independently audited regenerative farming standards.
We work with each farm individually to design a plan that applies our Farming Standards to their unique context. Their adoption is then independently audited on farm, along with arms-length carbon foot-printing and biodiversity monitoring.
